Chief Inspector Mackie produces the Indian
Seniority roll and the duty book for December 1896.
Summund Singh was promoted to Acting Sergeant
on the 12th.December1896.
A. S. Summund Singh (No.689) was on patrol duty
on 4,5, 6 sections from 6 a.m. to 10a.m. on the 19th. December
1896.
Cheung Hing Street is in No.6
section.
Summund Singh states:- Why did he not identify
me when I was paraded in the gaol with the others.
Mak Cheung states in reply:-There were on that
occasion a very large number of Indians I had not paid him re-
cently as I did not pay him after he became a Sergeant. I must
have passed him over.
